Tropical Storm Hanna, packing winds of 70 mph, is lashing the Southeastern U.S. coast ahead of landfall early Saturday. The storm is expected to come ashore near the South Carolina-North Carolina border. Meanwhile, forecasters are watching a powerful Hurricane Ike in the Atlantic.

Jobless rate soars to 6.1 percent
