MUSIC OFF MAIN at Arts off Main

A wide range of music will be featured when the next Music off Main at Arts off Main takes place on Friday May 9. Mace Gill will be the opener and Reverse Order will cap the night, which runs from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Arts off Main Art Gallery, 128 Willow Grove Street.
Gill, a singer-songwriter, plays a variety of tunes and styles, including Folk, Folk/Rock, Acoustic Rock, Irish, Blues, and Classical.
Reverse Order, made up of four young men from the Hackettstown area with an incredible resume, will play their rock music acoustic-style for this special show. The band includes John Russo, Cruise Russo, Zach Russack, and Richard Schaafsma.
My9 News calls them, “the band that is taking the music industry by storm.”
The Express Times says they are one of the “10 local bands to wrap your ears around.” What’s even more exciting is that they are only 11, 15, 16, and 17 years old. They first started to attract fans when they were playing with the internationally known School of Rock band.
John is the band’s founder and songwriter. At 12 years old he landed a role in an Ed Burns’s movie singing and playing guitar. At 15 he was awarded a scholarship for his songwriting to the National Guitar Workshop in CT.
The audience is amazed when Richard, who is 11, switches from guitar to drums, to bass and then sings. Former “As The World Turn’s” star, Cruise, plays drums, bass and sings. Zach rounds the band out playing keys, guitar, bass and singing. As a group they’ve opened for Peter Frampton, Mountain, Question Mark and other top bands and have performed at major venues around the state, including the Stone Pony.
The coffeehouse-like event at Arts off Main is promoted by Joe Hirsh Productions and WNTI, in association with Arts off Main, is open to the public. Cost is just $5 per person at the door. Attendees can listen to great music in a laid-back atmosphere and also check out some great artwork and jewelry made by area artists.
