Local gardener wins floral design awards
Winning arrangement "Siesta" was a creative floral design evoking a Mexican feel.
Long Valley Garden club member, Monika Karoly, owner of Fleurs Divine a floral shop in Long Valley, won first place floral design awards in two area flower shows.
On April 12, at "Fiesta" a flower show hosted by the Garden Club of Long Valley held at the Presbyterian church in Long Valley, Monika was awarded three awards for her floral interpretation of "Siesta" a creative floral design. Gold for design excellence, best floral entry in show. First place blue ribbon for highest scoring, and the third first place blue ribbon award for best in class design.
The second show on April 19, at the North Jersey Orchid Show held at the Frehlinghysen Arboretum, Morris Twsp, Monika received three first place awards for three designs, a table arrangement, bridal bouquet, and wearable flowers using cut orchid flowers.
With a passion for floral design, gardening, and floral competition, her past competitions with the former NJ Floral Assoc., FTD, and other NJ state shows have brought many awards and recognition. Ms. Karoly plans to continue with state floral competitions and next spring to enter into the Philadelphia Flower Show. Visit Fleurs Divine at www.fleursdivine.com.
