11-21 Frosty comes to Netcong
NETCONG – That favorite of all snowmen – Frosty – is coming to life in the New Jersey premiere of the musical Frosty at The Growing Stage on Nov. 28.
Directed by Growing Stage education director Lori B. Lawrence, the cast features a host of local youngsters including Ashlei Carlson, Beth Codey, and Emma Fredericks of Hackettstown, Stephanie Turci, Hanna Schroeder, and Caitlin Gilby of Long Valley, Lizzi Scarpone, of Mount Olive, Jake Wallace and Matthew Fralley of Netcong, Liz Rosa of Roxbury, Olivia Row of Sparta, Jeorgi Smith of Green Township, Sabrina Presti of Jefferson, and Danielle DiGiorgio of Succasunna.
This heart-warming musical, developed by Chicago's Emerald City Theatre Company with lyrics by Alyn Cardarelli and music by Steve Goers, follows the adventures of four third graders who believe in the magic that rests within a certain special hat. The show runs through December 28 and is a delightful theatre experience for the entire family. Performances are at 7:30 pm on Friday evenings and 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Founded in 1981, The Growing Stage was the 2008 recipient of the prestigious Sara Spencer Artistic Achievement Award presented by the American Alliance for Theatre & Education (AATE). The award, named in honor of Sara Spencer, founder of Anchorage Press, and one of the founders of the Children's Theatre Foundation, was presented to The Growing Stage for sustained and exceptional achievement in the field of theatre for young audiences.
